is an art and design studio engaged in the pursuit of meaning. I sell notecards, posters, and stickers that celebrate the mystery, beauty, and humor of our world and ourselves. I also offer illustration, graphic design, copywriting, and consulting services.

I am Janina Lamb, and I have been at this in one way or another for a long time. My earliest card/poster designs were hand-lettered and drawn in ink on illustration board. Now I do most of my illustration and graphic design on the computer. I still draw with pencil, ink and paint on paper when it seems like the best way to go, but everything gets digitized eventually because these days, print is digital.

The mediums and activities that I am most drawn to are words and pictures—writing and drawing—in the service of cheap art, by which I mean art that is accessible and reproducible. This could be a notecard, a poster, a comic strip, a graphic novel, a blog . . . The constant for me is a desire to communicate—to share ideas and visions that seem meaningful and helpful. The variable is my evolving sense of what is meaningful and helpful.

I still think it's worth noticing truth, beauty, and love as early and often as possible.  As I get older and possibly wiser, I see that recognizing the sacred is a lot easier in the absence of fear, and that not only does perfect love cast out fear; so does a good laugh. I'm big on good laughs these days.

As a marketing designer and artist in service to other people’s need for creative and powerful expression of their work, my aim is to help my clients articulate their goals and objectives so that, working together, we can find the best way to translate this understanding into vivid, successful communication.
